Alex Poatán has received a boost for his upcoming UFC fights. The fighter received a new personalized headdress from the shaman chief of the Siratã Mantxó village, Ubiranan Pataxó. The light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) made sure to show off his new ornament in a post on his social media profile.

On Instagram, Poatan posted this Sunday (3) a photo with the new headdress and with the following phrase: 'It's like this for the next fights', implying that the new apparatus will be present in the champion's next challenges in the UFC.
In addition, Poatan also participated in a dance ritual with the shaman chief Ubiranan. And the 'imaginary' bow and arrow, the fighter's trademark, gave way to a real one. And Poatan did not disappoint! The champion hit the target and drew praise from Ubiranan. (see video below)

Whenever he can, Poatan has strengthened his indigenous ties. While passing through Bahia last year, the athlete visited the Pataxó reserve 'Porto do Boi', located in Porto Seguro, where he took the UFC belt.
Alex Poatán defended the light heavyweight belt three times in 2024 and knocked out all of his opponents: Jamahal hill, Jiri Prochazka e Khalil rountree. The Brazilian, who is filming an action thriller, is expected to return to work at the UFC in January next year.
