After two years away from the octagon, Michael chandler returns in UFC 309, on November 16, for a rematch against Charles of the Bronx. After nearly knocking out the Brazilian in the first round of the first fight, but see victory slip away in the second, 'Iron' is confident he has made the necessary strategic adjustments to win this time around.
In an interview with the New York Post Sports, Chandler reflected on the mistakes he made in his first fight against Bronx and admitted that overconfidence and the strategy of trying to end the fight early on hindered him. For the new duel, the American believes he made important adjustments to leave the octagon with the victory.

“I wasn’t where I needed to be, I went in there very confident, I had a good training session, but I went in there and tried to kill Charles Oliveira in the first second of the first round, 10-8 on him in the first round and I just couldn’t keep up that pace, I made a bad decision. Since then, I’ve fixed all those things, especially mentally and spiritually, and I just think it’s going to be a masterful performance and I’m going to surgically and systematically wear this man down until he looks for the exit sign,” Chandler said.
Charles of the Bronx e Michael chandler faced each other for the first time in UFC 262, where the Brazilian won the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg). Since then, Do Bronx has accumulated three wins and two losses, while Chandler won one fight and lost two.
