In a number of publications, Ankalaev used terms such as 'voodookiller' (something like 'voodoo killer') and 'running Alex' (Alex Corridor) to refer to Poatan. The Russian also posted a compilation of the Brazilian's defeats and called him a 'good loser', with the insinuation that the champion is already used to being defeated.
“Alex keeps running. I will beat Alex and I will give him an immediate rematch, as he deserves. I will knock him out twice in a row, call it,” Ankalaev said on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) account.

The Russian also hit back at Poatan's statements about being willing to fight in December, saying the Brazilian is just trying to buy time.
“It’s a lie, I was the only one ready for December, but he deserves to rest. They offered me three dates: December, February and March, and I accepted them all. I have to win by knockout, I have no problem. It’s a condition,” he concluded.
