“Ilia has mentioned that he wants to take some time off. The UFC has also said that they don’t have a date for an event in Spain yet. It makes perfect sense to fight Volkanovski in Sydney for the interim title. Volka has already suggested it and I have already accepted it. Let’s do it,” he said. Diego lopes.
The Brazilian justifies his request with the urgency of both fighters, considering that the current linear champion of the division expressed a desire to rest and return to action only in Spain, in a likely unprecedented destination for the organization.
“Ilia wants to take some time off and wants to fight in Spain for his next defense. Volk doesn’t want to wait, Volk wants to fight, I want to fight. I don’t mind going to Sydney to fight him,” he concluded.
