The featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) belt dispute UFC 308 is confirmed. In the early hours of this Friday (25), the 26 athletes scheduled for this Saturday's event (26), including the champion Ilia Topuria and the challenger and former champion Max Holloway, passed the challenge against the scale and confirmed the 13 fights on the card.

In search of the first defense of the belt won in February, about Alexander Volkanovsky, Ilia Topuria was the first of the 26 athletes to weigh in and, without any surprises, weighed 65,7 kg for his category. The exact same weight was reached shortly after by Max Holloway, which seeks to retake the division's throne after more than four years.

Chosen as a reserve for the belt dispute in case the champion or challenger had any problem or didn't make weight, the Brazilian Diego lopes also did his part and weighed in at 65,7 kg, although it is unlikely that he will have the chance to see action in the UFC 308.

The great tension related to weighing the UFC 308 was around Khamzat Shimaev, who has not played since October of last year and has had to deal with serious health problems in recent months. Two fights undergo weight class changes ahead of UFC 308 weigh-ins

Another point of attention regarding weighing for the UFC 308 involved two preliminary card fights, which underwent changes in terms of the weight categories in which they will be contested just before the weigh-in began.

Mateusz Rebecki e Myktybek Orolbai, who were scheduled to face each other at lightweight (up to 70,3 kg), will fight at a catchweight of 72,5 kg. The Pole reached the combined limit, while the Kyrgyz weighed 72,1 kg.

Now the duel between Farid Basharat, which was to be contested at bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg), was moved to featherweight (up to 65,7 kg). The sudden change caused a big difference in the athletes' weights. While the Brazilian weighed 66 kg, using a half-pound tolerance, the Afghan weighed only 62,1 kg, just over the bantamweight limit.

The reasons for the changes in both fights were not revealed by the organization.
