Renato Moicano already sees himself as worthy of greater heights in the UFC. At a great stage in his career, the Brazilian plans the path to reaching the long-awaited lightweight belt (up to 70kg.) In an interview with the North American website mma Fighting, Moicano said he believes that a future victory over a renowned athlete in the category could lead him to become a challenger for the belt.

“I want to keep fighting. I’m 35 years old, I need to go. It’s time to move on. I need one more win. I need a title shot. Depending on the opponent and how my next fight goes, it could definitely be a title shot next time,” he said.
In September, in UFC Paris in France, the number 11 in the lightweight ranking knocked out Benoît Saint Denis, a home athlete, in the second round, securing his fourth consecutive victory. Before, Moicano challenged Paddy Pimblett (15th) and Dan Hooker (5th), but now it is 3rd in the ranking, Justin gaethje, which came into the Brazilian's sights.
“I want to fight as soon as possible. I can’t afford to lose. I need to win every fight to get the belt and now is my time. I’m here to get my title shot,” he concluded.
In MMA since 2010, the 35-year-old fighter has built a record of 20 wins, five losses and one draw. Currently, the lightweight belt belongs to Islam makhachev.
