The main event of UFC Vegas 98 brings an important clash for the flyweight category (up to 56,7 kg). Undefeated as a professional, Tatsuro Taira comes face to face with Brandon royval and the winner should become the number one contender in the division dominated by Alexandre pantoja.
If he wins, Taira will become the first Japanese fighter since Kyoji Horiguchi to compete for a title in the world's largest MMA organization. Undefeated as a professional, the fighter is one of the biggest promises in the current roster.

Royval is now trying to silence his critics and get a third chance to beat the Brazilian, who defeated him in December 2023. Since then, the American has surpassed the former champion Brandon Moreno and became the first placed in the UFC's lightest division.
Challenge for Alexandre Pantoja in the UFC
In a video published on the UFC's official YouTube channel in September, Pantoja speculated about what his next challenges would be, stating that he was interested in fighting again in 2024. Among several analyses, the champion spoke about this Saturday's (12) confrontation.
“Royval has a fight with Taira which is a very good matchup, it will be very interesting to watch that fight… The Japanese are tough. I have some Japanese guys coming to American Top Team to train and this guy is very good. He (Taira) has something different because all these guys are very strong, that is good for me and I know that Taira is the real deal,” said Pantoja.

With transmission PODCASTS and in REAL TIME from SUPER LUTAS, UFC Vegas 98 takes place this Saturday, starting at 17 pm. In addition to Brandon Royvall and Tatsuro Taira in the main fight, the event also features the presence of Julia Polastri e Lucas Rocha representing Brazil in the octagon.
