“It’s a little hard for me to say this, but I’m going to say it because I have to. What makes me different is my overall skill set compared to the guys he’s fought. I feel like my strength, athleticism, discipline, skills and experience fit my style. I don’t think there’s ever been a fighter as complete as I am and as I feel right now,” Rountree said.

Confidence didn't come easily. Rountree debuted in the UFC in 2016 and has had his ups and downs throughout his career in the organization. However, he is currently enjoying the best moment of his career, having won five straight fights, all by knockout, and feels that he is fully prepared, not only physically but also emotionally, to win the belt.

“I’ve been through a lot during my UFC career, and this is the first time I can fully support myself. I don’t need to say too much, sometimes it’s uncomfortable for me to say, but I feel amazing. I’m 100 percent, I have confidence in myself and I don’t know who can bring the same. The same as I have now. I don’t know, there’s something I feel inside me right now,” said the American fighter.
