A strong image marked the preliminary card of the UFC Las Vegas 97, this Saturday (7). In the last fight, in a duel valid for the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), Rong Zhu was the victim of a brutal elbow from the American Chris Padilla. The blow quickly caused impressive swelling on the Chinese man's face, leaving him with a 'tennis ball' in his left eye.

After being dominated in the first round of the fight, Padilla connected the blow at four minutes and fourteen seconds into the second round.
Shortly after the elbow, the referee stopped the fight so that the medical team could check the injury. After a quick observation, the fight was stopped immediately, declaring the American the winner by technical knockout in the second round.
