The Brazilian Gilbert Durinho was defeated by the American Sean brady in the unanimous decision of the judges (50-45, 50-45 and 49-46). The fight was the main attraction of the UFC Las Vegas 97, event held on Saturday night (07).
With the victory, the American 'steals' the sixth position in the welterweight ranking (up to 77 kg), while the Brazilian suffers his third consecutive defeat in the organization.

Right from the start of the duel, the difference in approach between the athletes became clear. While Brady opted to create volume and set a strong pace, Burns tried to choose his strikes better, seeking greater impact. In the first five minutes, the American managed to take down the fighter.
In the second round, the Brazilian tried to be more aggressive, connecting with a strong overhand with a right hand. However, Brady managed to stop his opponent's advance by using the clinch, stopping the fight on the fence. Despite achieving good transitions on the ground, Burns was unable to impose his game. Less than ten minutes into the fight, the American had already thrown more than 100 strikes, compared to just 19 from 'Durinho'.
In the third round, Brady remained active at close range, seeking the clinch and landing a great takedown at the end of the round. Meanwhile, Gilbert landed some good shots, but without the same effectiveness as his opponent.
The penultimate round saw Brady being more cautious, using many jabs and counterattacks, while Durinho became more aggressive, looking for the knockout. At this point, Brady became the first fighter to take the Brazilian to the ground three times in almost a decade. In the following minutes, he reached the mark of seven takedowns, a personal record.
