After the victory over Charles of the Bronx by split decision in UFC 300, Arman Tsarukyan conquered the position of number one challenger in the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg.) of the biggest MMA event in the world. But an event before the fight almost put the title fight against the champion at risk, Islam makhachev. As he walked towards the octagon, the fighter attacked a fan after being provoked.

The attitude resulted in a nine-month suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission. According to the agency, the penalty could be reduced to six months if the athlete recorded a video as part of an anti-bullying campaign. However, the scenario has apparently changed in recent months. In light of this, the Armenian stated, in an interview with the YouTube channel 'Ushatayka', that he sees no need to participate in the anti-bullying campaign.

“(The fight with Makhachev) was supposed to take place in October, but it was postponed. If my fight is scheduled for December, there’s no point in recording the video).”

Makhachev injury

The ligament injury in the Russian's hand, suffered in the fight against Dustin poirier, caused the rematch with Tsarukyan to be postponed. Initially planned for the pay per view from Abu Dhabi, the title fight is being planned for December, according to the challenger.
