Despite long inactivity, Conor McGregor continues to be pursued by big names in MMA. This time, the Irishman came into the sights of Javier Mendez, football coach Islam makhachev, who recognized the greatness that a possible confrontation between athletes would bring to the world of combat. Former acquaintance of 'Notório', the renowned coach did not rule out that his pupil would face him in the future.

“I love Islam x Conor McGregor; Who wouldn't want to be involved in a fight that would have an electrifying atmosphere? This is a big fight for us and the fans. One of the best feelings I had in my entire life was when Khabib and Conor fought because of the true hatred between the two sides”, declared Javier in an interview with Instant Casino.

In addition to expressing interest, Mendez highlighted the great skill and danger presented by McGregor during confrontations. According to the coach, the fight would not be easy.

“But Conor wasn’t going to be an easy night for Islam, because you have to respect the man, he’s got a lot of experience, and the only way to make it an easy night is to train hard, but it’s never going to be an easy night with a guy like Conor. You better train a lot, because he is a real fighter, and if he comes prepared, it will never be easy”, he concluded.

Away since 2021 when he fractured his ankle, Conor hopes to return to the octagon later this year in a confrontation against Michael chandler. Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) the Irishman recently attacked Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team, rekindling the rivalry that took place in the UFC.
