UFC 304 held a shocking image for MMA fans. Daniel Pineda, in comparison with Nathaniel Wood, left the octagon with his face completely disfigured, especially his right eye, which was purple and swollen. The scene, which went viral on social media, marked the fight and generated great repercussion.
The fight, valid for bantamweight, was marked by intensity from the beginning. Pineda, looking for a takedown, was surprised by a kick to the waist that left him momentarily disoriented. Wood took advantage of the opportunity and dominated the first round.

In the second round, the situation got worse for Pineda. A sequence of precise blows from Wood hit the American in the face, who was knocked down and showed great difficulty in continuing. The right eye, in particular, became a constant target of the opponent's attacks.
Even with his face badly injured, Pineda returned for the third round, but Wood's superiority remained. The Brit controlled most of the time on the ground, looking for submissions and punishing his opponent with short, precise blows.
