The presence of Alex Poatan and Diego Lopes in the two main fights of UFC 303 , this Saturday (29), in itself, fills the most superstitious Brazilian fans with hope. This is because the Paulista and the Manaus native have a perfect record when performing in the same events.
The "double act" began at UFC 295 last November. At that event, Alex Poatan headlined a fight initially planned to feature Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic , becoming the light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) with a knockout victory over Jiri Prochazka , who will be his opponent again at UFC 303. Shortly before, on the preliminary card, Diego Lopes secured his second UFC win by knocking out Pat Sabatini in the first round.
The 'partnership' continued its success at the historic UFC 300 in April of this year. Once again in the main event, Alex Poatan knocked out Jamahal Hill in the first round to defend the belt he had won months earlier. Again on the preliminary card, Diego Lopes secured his place in the top 15 of the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg) with another knockout, this time against Sodiq Yusuff , in about a minute and a half.
The third chapter of the double between the Brazilians takes place this Saturday (29), at UFC 303 , at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, United States. Alex Poatan seeks his second light heavyweight title defense in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka , while Diego Lopes aims for a place in the top 3 of the featherweight division against former title challenger Brian Ortega.
