Throughout the week of UFC 301, Alexandre pantoja e Steve Erceg avoided further provocations. However, just over a month after the clash in Rio de Janeiro, the Australian expressed his irritation with the flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) and did not hide his desire for a rematch.

“I still want to punch Pantoja in the face. He was nice to me (before the fight), but afterwards he said some things like that I hit like a girl. You don't want to say things like that to me. I don’t know which girls he was with, but his face was full of blood (after the fight),” said Erceg.

Pantoja and Erceg were in the main fight of the UFC 301, which took place on May 04th, in Rio de Janeiro. Then ranked tenth in the flyweight division, the Australian didn't give the Brazilian an easy time and was defeated in a tough decision by the judges, where he still managed to wrest two rounds from the champion.

Currently in ninth place in the flyweight rankings, Erceg arrived in Ultimate in 2023 and won three victories in four fights wearing the organization's gloves. At 28 years old, the Australian has a professional MMA record of 12 positive results and just one negative result.
