Alex Poatán is one step away from confirming his next defense of the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg.) belt in the UFC. In an interview with the 'Poditudocast' podcast, the Brazilian revealed that negotiations for the fight are 'almost certain' and ruled out two names that were being speculated as his next opponents: Anthony Smith e Jon Jones.
“It’s not defined yet, but we’re talking. It's almost right. This one (Anthony Smith) I don't even make people curious. It will not be Jon Jones also. I'm going to fight at my weight (light heavyweight), anyway. We are negotiating”, said Poatan, alongside Glover Teixeira, in the program.

The Brazilian, who established himself as one of the biggest names in the category after knock out Jamahal Hill in his last fight, in UFC 300, does not hide his desire to return to the Octagon.
Although Alex's next title opponent has not yet been determined, with Magomed Ankalayev e Jiri Prochazka as main candidates, the champion's focus is clear: to defend his belt with mastery.
In his career, there are ten positive results and two negative results in his career in professional MMA. He has already beaten names like Israel adesanya, Jiri Prochazka, Jan Blachowicz e Sean Strickland.
