Used to getting right guesses about Ultimate matches, Alexander Volkanovsky took a risk in analyzing the fight for the flyweight title (up to 56,7kg.) between Alexandre pantoja x Steve Erceg. Confident in his compatriot's victory, the former champion did not hesitate in pointing out a greater chance for the challenger and guaranteed that the world will be shocked this Saturday (4) at UFC 301.
"Steve Erceg is about to shock the world. And that's why I'm so excited for this fight. Because when I see Steve fight, I know he's ready for it. And I know it might be harder for other people (to agree) because they haven't seen him tested in fights. But I know that if he was, he would have shown it. And now he will have that opportunity”, declared Volkanovski in an interview with Fox Sports.

When predicting the confrontation, Volkanovski did not rule out an unusual outcome in the main fight of the event.
"Forecast? I think he catches the champion in the third round. Pantoja has a dangerous style, so Steve will have to respect that and weather the storm early on. He doesn't want to try to capitalize right away as he might get caught. Plus, he can handle fire anyway. So it will be: “Who cares about the fact that it’s in Rio, who cares about the public booing, who cares about facing the champion? Steve will be calm, composed, and that's why I think the victory will come in the middle rounds. Either he knocks him out or gets the submission”, he bet.

A dark horse in the bookmakers, Erceg will have an unprecedented opportunity to fight for a UFC title. Currently ranked 10th in the category, the Australian has only three fights in the organization. The clash is scheduled for this Saturday (4), at UFC 301, based in Rio de Janeiro.
