With my mind still fresh from the victory over Jamahal hill No. UFC 300, Alex Poatán He is already laying out the roadmap to resume his training routine in an attempt to continue his journey at the top of the organization's light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg).
In an interview with MMA Fighting's “Trocação Franca” podcast, the Brazilian revealed details of the finger injury of the foot, which occurred two weeks before the fight against the North American, and projected a return to training in around three weeks.

“I had broken my right foot two weeks before. It's better now. After three weeks, a bone callus begins to form. For me to be training 100% it would take six weeks. And there have been three. I believe that, after three more weeks, I am already training well. I just won't be kicking, but I'll be doing everything. Boxing, taking knees. I walk and, as it is healing, it still hurts,” said Poatan.
The injury, suffered during training with Rodolfo Bellato, generated great concern among the athlete's fans. On social media, the coolness demonstrated by Poatan in dealing with the situation, even weeks before the fight for the belt, earned praise and admiration.
In a press conference after the victory over Hill, the champion confessed that he had to work on his mind to avoid being emotionally shaken by the unforeseen event. He, however, surpassed his limits and knocked out his rival in the first round.
