Victim of historic knockout in UFC 300, Justin gaethje confirmed a career break to recover from the 'trauma' suffered in the fight against Max Holloway. In an interview with 'MMA Hangouts', the former holder of the 'BMF' belt admitted a hiatus of at least six months in his career. The athlete seeks to preserve his physical integrity after the overwhelming outcome suffered on the 13th.
“Hypothetically, I could fight tomorrow, but physically, I want to take care of myself. I think that due to the repeated concussions and having gone out like that, receiving that blow, it would be foolish to return to training before 180 days (six months). (…) I can keep up the cardio, stay in shape and that's what I'm going to try to do. The older I get, the harder it is to stay in shape. I want to stay active. Obviously, physical contact will be limited for some time. I believe it will take at least six months before I get hit again,” said Gaethje.

What's more, Gaethje ended up losing the 'BMF' belt, which awards the 'Toughest Skin in MMA'. Now, the symbolic title is in the possession of the Hawaiian star.
