Jiri Prochazka, former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) UFC, appears to have changed his mind about stopping his fight against Alex Poatán in November 2023. After initially praising the performance of referee Marc Goddard, the Czech now contests the decision and asks for a rematch against the Brazilian.
In an interview with the former fighter Michael Bisping, Prochazka compared his situation to that of Jamahal hill, who was knocked out by Poatan on UFC 300. According to him, the North American had more time to recover before the strike than he did.

“I must say it was an early stoppage. If you know me, especially when you see the Jamahal hill x Pereira (Alex Poatán). It was similar to my fight and Jamahal had a lot more time than me to survive it. I know how to survive difficult moments and I know how to come back, how to win, how to reverse”, declared Prochazka.
Prochazka wants redemption for the belt
The fight between Prochazka and Poatan for the vacant light heavyweight belt at UFC 295 was marked by great controversy. The Czech was knocked out in the second round, but some fans and experts questioned whether the interruption was fair.
Prochazka, who bounced back with a knockout victory over Aleksandar rakic, does not hide his desire to face Poatan again. He believes that, with more time, he could have reversed the result of the fight.
