STRONG IMAGE: Rival of French star suffers serious accident and is removed from fight at Bellator Paris

Derek Anderson, who was due to face Cedric Doumbé, had to leave the clash on May 17th after suffering a serious fracture in his left foot

Just under 48 hours after confirming his next fight, welterweight Cedric Doumbé will need a new opponent for his Bellator Paris, scheduled for May 17th. On a social network, American Derek Anderson announced that he had suffered a serious motorcycle accident, showed the frightening fracture in his foot and announced that he will not be able to play in front of the new French star.

Cedric Doumbé and Derek Anderson would face off on the card of Bellator Paris, scheduled for May 17th. However, with the North American's serious injury, the organization is rushing to find a new opponent for the new French MMA idol.


Born in Cameroon and naturalized French, Cedric Doumbé stood out as one of the best welterweights in kickboxing, with titles at Glory and the World Kickboxing Association. In 2021, the fighter made the transition to MMA and has a record of five wins and just one loss in the sport.
