With the experience of someone who has already won in Rio de Janeiro, the Australian Alexander Volkanovsky gave important advice to his compatriot Steve Erceg. In a video released on UFC social media, the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) advised the challenger for the flyweight belt to ignore the boos from the Brazilian public and focus solely on his objective: winning the belt.

“Absorb it. Do you know what I mean? You already know what to expect. It's like, 'Oh, cool.' Just use this. You have bigger things to worry about than people booing. Who cares? You have a job to do anyway. That’s all you should focus on,” Volkanovski advised.

In May 2019, in UFC 237, Volkanovski came to Rio de Janeiro and even in front of a packed arena, he had a safe and dominant performance over the former champion José Aldo, emerging victorious in the unanimous decision of the judges.

Now, who will have a complicated mission in 'hostile territory' is Steve Erceg. Volkanovski's compatriot will be the flyweight champion's second challenger Alexandre pantoja. The two fighters will compete in the main fight of the UFC 301, which will take place on May 04th, in Rio de Janeiro.
