In a historic duel that marked the first title fight between Chinese women in UFC history, Weili Zhang He once again proved his sovereignty in the strawweight division (up to 52,1 kg). The Chinese champion overcame the challenger yan xiaonan in a five-round fight, winning by unanimous decision from the judges in the UFC 300, held this Saturday (13) at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
With the result, Zhang updates his record, defends his title for the second time and has 24 positive results and three negative results.

Xiaonan, in turn, has his dream postponed and feels the bitter taste of the fourth defeat of his career. The Chinese also has another 17 victories and one 'no contest'.

The match started off lively, with Zhang landing a strong blow that made Yan wobble. The two started striking, with the challenger having the strategy of shortening and applying a plastic takedown, although she was unable to be effective in the position.
Xiaonan, already on his feet, hit a bomb that knocked Weili out. However, the champion turned things around, took her back, reached the rear naked choke and even 'erased' her opponent, but the round ended and she saved Yan.
If it worked, the champion repeats. Once again, Zhang reached the ground with a quick fall and crushed her rival to the ground. Soon, the transition to the back happened and she continued hitting on top, but the referee didn't interrupt. Not even the transition to katagatame made her rival give up.
But the fight was crazy and uncertain. Xiaonan came back different, hit a straight shot that made Zhang feel it and fall again. The champion returned to her feet, but suffered another right that made her wobble. In the fourth round, the challenger landed another bomb and Weili hit the ground and came back. Experienced, the fighter took a breather from the bad moment she suffered and, tactically, put the fight on the ground to work.
Willing not to take so many risks, Weili Zhang bet on the ground game to neutralize and win yan xiaonan. With a dominant game, the champion applied pressure and took few risks to emerge with her arms raised in the unanimous decision and defend the belt for the second time since she regained it.
