Charles of the Bronx was relentless in his pursuit of victory in the UFC 300, but the resilience of Arman Tsarukyan stopped the Brazilian's joy this Saturday (13). In an electrifying fight at the T-Mobile Arena, the Brazilian dominated much of the first round and came close to submission on two occasions, but the Armenian resisted bravely and recovered to win a split decision.
Charles, with the result, is defeated again and is far from a rematch with Islam makhachev and another chance for the lightweight belt. In his career in MMA, the Brazilian has 34 positive results and ten negative results.

On the other hand, Tsarukyan is going through a great challenge and aims to be the next challenger for the Russian's title. The Armenian, who is fourth in the rankings, should move up positions and has an updated record of 22 triumphs and three setbacks.
Charles do Bronx succumbs to Tsarukyan's resilience and bitter defeat at UFC 300
The first action was from Charles, who kicked Tsarukyan at the right moment and took away the Armenian's base. From the Bronx, then, he attacked the guillotine and almost missed it. Arman resisted, but the Brazilian took the mount, throwing hard elbows. However, the opponent was precise and managed to sweep to reach the strong base.
Charles freed himself and, at one point, landed an illegal kick on Tsarukyan's face. Referee Mark Smith saw the move, called a doctor to evaluate it and decided not to take a point from the Brazilian. The former champion, in the final stretch, managed to stay on his feet.
The beginning of the second round had Do Bronx landing a good cross, easily absorbed by Tsarukyan. The Armenian, in turn, decided to invest in kicks to the waist line and, at the first opportunity, dropped to deliver brutal elbows, which opened the Brazilian's eyebrow and left him feeling at the end of the round. Charles almost attacked the triangle, right from below, and didn't have time to finish.
The third and decisive round remained tense, with both fighters having good moments in their exchanges. However, Charles stayed close to the fence and suffered a crucial fall to the Armenian, who reached the back and worked on top. Do Bronx turned it around and got a tight triangle grip, but Arman resisted bravely until the end.
