In the world of fighting, strategy is as important as brute force. And it is along these lines that the former champion of UFC, Daniel Cormier, comes up with some peculiar advice for the lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.), Islam makhachev. In an interview with ESPN, 'DC' suggested that the Russian avoid a confrontation with Arman Tsarukyan, even if he wins Charles of the Bronx No. UFC 300, scheduled for April 13th.
According to the former fighter, the rematch against the Armenian would be the most difficult fight for Makhachev and would not make sense at this moment. “I believe the fight against Tsarukyan is the most difficult. I don't know if this is the most profitable fight for Makhachev. Who you don't want is Arman Tsarukyan. Not because you're afraid of him, but you don't want to because it doesn't seem to make sense,” Cormier said.
Should Makhachev prioritize legacy?
The former champion argues that Makhachev, considered one of the best fighters in the world, UFC, he must look for opponents who will elevate him to his ultimate legacy in the lightweight division.
