Possible protagonist of UFC 301, which takes place in May, in Brazil, Alexandre pantoja admitted that he may face an alternative opponent in his new belt defense. In an interview with the podcast 'exchange frank', the flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) indicated that he could give the undefeated fighter an opportunity Muhammad Mokayev to fight for the Ultimate title.

“There’s Mokaev, who’s coming. Will fight against Alex Perez. Even though he lost a lot of weight, I know this because he trained at American Top Team (ATT). He's a pretty big guy for the category, but I believe he makes perfect sense, winning the Alex Perez. (Brandon) Moreno had the 'knife and cheese in his hand' and now Mokaev has it too,” said Pantoja.

Despite his desire to face Muhammad, Alexander avoided belittling his possible opponent for the future. The champion opted for praise, pointing out the potential challenger's qualities.

“He’s damn good. Very talented. Here's another line of reasoning of mine. He was raised in London, so he's not that real Russian. (…) He is still young, he wants to learn”, he concluded.
