Henry Cejudo rules out retirement and challenges former flyweight champion to fight

Despite the last defeat suffered in the UFC, 'Triplo C' suggests an ideal date for the next appearance and reignites rivalry in the organization

Defeated in his last appearance, Henry Cejudo went against expectations and ruled out that he would retire after a setback in UFC 298. Looking to return to the winning path, the former double champion reignited old rivalry and challenged Brandon Moreno for confrontation in his next appearance. Despite his speech, 'Triplo C' still had no response from the Mexican.

“What fight (would be) better than ‘Triple C’ (against) Brandon Moreno. The Mexican-American versus the real Mexican, and they come together and have a five-round showdown at the Sphere in Las Vegas for Mexican Independence Day. I like that. I think if there's any way we can resolve this, no more talking, no more clowning around, no more of all this. The only way to do this is with Brandon Moreno, I accept your challenge, let’s do this on Mexican Independence Day”, suggested Cejudo in a video published on his channel YouTube.

Despite having declared that he would go 'all or nothing' in UFC 298, Cejudo stated that he cannot hang up his gloves after two consecutive defeats. Former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.) as well as the Mexican, 'Triplo C' did not make it clear whether he intends to return to his old category or if he expects his rival to venture into bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.) next .
