With a rival scheduled on the eve of the UFC 298, Marcos Foot He put on a real show in the octagon. Featured in the preliminary card of the event held this Saturday (17), in Anaheim (USA), the Brazilian was not aware of Junior Tafa, who took on the challenge of replacing his injured brother, Justin. With kicks to his left leg that injured his rival, the São Paulo native paved the way for victory by knockout in the second round.
With the positive result, Pezão defended his 15th position in the heavyweight rankings (up to 120,2kg). The Brazilian also recovered from the defeat he suffered against Derrick Lewis last season.

The fight started with Pezão taking the initiative with a low kick. The Brazilian, in the opening seconds, tried to corner his opponent close to the bars. Tafa was betting on counterattacks and awaiting the actions of the São Paulo native. After a minute had passed, Junior caught a low kick from Marcos and began limping across the octagon. The Brazilian closed the distance and started trying for a takedown. Tafa managed to free himself and the fight was fought again in the center of the Octagon. Pezão kicked the opponent's base again and Tafa visibly felt the actions. Afterwards, Marcos tried the takedown again and, this time, managed to take his opponent to the canvas. On top, the São Paulo native attacked with ground and pound and sought the knockout. The Brazilian controlled his opponent, who tried to stay on his feet. Marcos maintained the strategy of pressing his opponent to the ground, not allowing him to recover. The gong sounded and Junior had trouble walking to his corner.
In the second round, Pezão continued hitting Tafa's left leg, who had difficulty remaining standing. Marcos shortened it and pressed his opponent against the bars again. After a minute, the Brazilian connected with another kick on Junior's leg, who collapsed. Pezão struck with ground and pound until the referee interrupted the fight.
