One of the main revelations of MMA in 2023, the Brazilian Diego lopes he didn't hide his happiness with the morale he's been receiving from Ultimate. The Brazilian featherweight (up to 65,7kg) said he was grateful for the prestige achieved in the organization, praised president Dana White and made a projection for his career in case of victory in the UFC 300.
“It’s something that motivates any athlete (praise from Dana). Since my first fight I have shown what I am capable of. Despite the defeat to Movsar Evloev, it was a very competitive fight. It was on that day that I gained recognition from Dana White, who came to talk to me and everything. And my next two fights were what confirmed what he had already said to me. For him to talk (about me) that way, to announce my fight the way he did, for me it was a huge motivation. It's something that will be remembered, the way he announced my fight was very emotional. All this attention that the UFC has given me now, they are already projecting me (for the future). If I win this fight, I will definitely be in the rankings. It’s something really crazy, not even a year in the UFC and the projection we’re having is incredible,” said Diego.
