Even before the confrontation between Sean Strickland e Dricus Du Plessis, there is already an Ultimate commentator planning the future of both athletes. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', Jon Anik estimated what could happen to the two athletes after the UFC 297 and even hinted at a possible appearance of one of them in UFC 300, which takes place on April 13th.

"I know Dricus Du Plessis win here, I think the foundations have been laid here for him and Adesanya (to face each other), depending on the health of the new champion. And certainly Sean Strickland e Khamzat Shimaev they would be near the top of my dream fight life for this year. There are many opportunities and options. I just think we're going to have clarity on something for the UFC 300 and any other title fights when these two face each other here in Toronto,” said Anik.
After shocking the world by beating Israel adesanya and winning the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg) in September 2023, Sean Strickland will make his first title defense this Saturday (20), against the South African Dricus Du Plessis in the main fight of UFC 297. The highly anticipated card will be held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
