Much speculated in recent months, the UFC's return to Rio already has a date and first fight planned. According to journalist Laerte Viana, the Brazilian Norm Dumont will compete against the former bantamweight challenger (up to 61,2kg) Irene aldana on the card speculated for May 04th, in Rio de Janeiro.

Former bantamweight challenger and last rival of the legendary Amanda nunes, Irene recovered from the defeat to the ‘Lioness’ in UFC 296, by beating the also Brazilian Karol Rosa in one of the best duels of the 2023 season. At 35 years old, the Mexican is currently number five in the ranking and has a record of 15 positive results and seven negative results in the sport.
With no other fights scheduled yet, UFC Rio should feature the champions Alexandre pantoja e Alex Poatán as protagonists of the card initially scheduled for May 04th. The show should take place at the traditional Jeunesse Arena,
