“This (against Jon Jones) is the fight I wanted to have but never did. I was more prepared than ever. I blew out my knee right before the fight. I still thought I could fight. It would have been tough, but I could do it. My team had to talk some sense into me. It wasn't a good idea. This was the only fight I had to cancel after 20 years of career. It sucked,” lamented the legend.

After that, although he returned to fight for a UFC title, at middleweight (up to 83,9 kg), against Michael Bisping, Dan Henderson never crossed paths with Jon Jones. The former fighter, however, guarantees that he would have ended the reign of 'Bones', who, at the time, had three title defenses.

“I was 100% convinced that I would screw him. I would absolutely crush him in my head. I was very prepared, not just physically, but also tactically, my strategy and everything. I was used to facing taller guys, I was ready and my teammates could attest to that”, he guaranteed.
