Deiveson Figueiredo compares himself to Muhammad Ali and reflects on the difference in acting in bantamweight

Brazilian has a dominant performance and defeats Rob Font in a unanimous decision by the judges in a gala debut in the new category

Underdog in bookmakers before the ufc austin, Deiveson Figueiredo showed his credentials for the bantam division (up to 61,2kg.) with a gala performance in front of Rob font. Winner in the unanimous decision of the judges, the athlete revealed that he felt like Muhammad Ali while performing in the octagon in front of the American.

“What I felt was that guys move so fast in the flyweights. Here, whatever Rob was doing, I kind of knew what he was doing. I felt like Muhammad Ali. I was just moving. I felt really good at 61kg”, said Deiveson during an interview after the fight.

As he continued his speech, the athlete declared that he was ready to continue performing in the new category.

“At 61kg I feel very good. At 56, I suffered a lot. There came a point and a time in my life where I was basically looking at myself and saying, 'How much effort am I putting into this and trying to get there?' And now I know how good I feel at 61kg. So I’m so ready for the roosters,” he concluded.

Former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.), Deiveson Figueiredo derrotou Rob font for three rounds to zero, according to the side judges' scores. In search of a chance to become king in a new division, the Brazilian sent a message to Sean O'Malley and stated that he is capable of submitting the North American if the fight goes to the ground.
