Moreno analyzes Deiveson's rise to bantamweight and questions the Brazilian's 'power' in the new division

Former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), Deiveson Figueiredo A new journey in the top category begins this Saturday (2), when it faces Rob font in his debut at bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) on the main card of ufc austin. Opponent of the Brazilian in the only quadrilogy in the history of Ultimate, Brandon Moreno talked about the rival’s movement.

In an interview with the North American website 'MMA Junkie', Moreno revealed that he had advised Deiveson to move up a category before the third of four fights between both. Although he welcomes the change, the Mexican questions whether the Brazilian will maintain the same firepower in the new category.

“I gave him that advice before the third fight against him. I think it's a smart decision. He's big, man. He was a huge flyweight. My only question about this change is whether he can maintain the same power at bantamweight. In the flyweight division he was always the biggest fighter in the center of the octagon and put a lot of pressure with a lot of power on his right hand. I want to see if he can maintain that power in the roosters”, asked the Mexican.

The opponent chosen by the UFC for Deiveson's bantamweight debut is the American Rob font, ranked eighth in the category, who is going through a difficult time in the organization, with just one victory in the last four fights. Still, Moreno believes this is a litmus test for the Brazilian.
