“There were other guys who didn't want to face me, so I said 'ok, fine.' So a few weeks ago they called us about this guy (Malhadinho) and I accepted right away. But I didn't know the fight would be in Brazil. They only told me after I had accepted. I always told my manager that I would never fight in Brazil because the taxes are so bad. So I was tricked into accepting this fight. I wouldn't have accepted it. No way. I said I didn't want to fight here and, since I arrived, nothing has changed. I can’t wait to go home,” Lewis revealed.
The main reason for rejecting Derrick Lewis The idea of fighting in Brazil is due to the taxes charged in the country.
“It's horrible. I'm basically fighting the government at the moment. I'm not going to take anything away from this. When I pay my coaches and everyone else, it won't pay off. That’s if they don’t steal my wallet here”, concluded the North American.
