Protagonist of lightning victory in UFC Nashville, Diego lopes 'it's in the clouds'. New favorite of the Brazilian fans, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg), the fighter celebrated the gala performance in the confrontation against Gavin Tucker and projected a successful future for the organization. In a press conference after the event, the Amazon native took the opportunity to indicate a date for the next fight, in addition to sending a message to the category.

“I'm happy to be able to get here and show what I'm capable of with full preparation. It's another goal completed in my career. It had been a long time since they'd seen oneflying triangle' (the way the fighter submitted Tucker) in the UFC. This can show the difference, what I am capable of. The idea is to keep moving forward showing new things. I’m very versatile, someone who can finish a fight in any area,” said Lopes.

With two presentations with the company in 2023, Diego doesn't want to rest. In a loud and clear tone, the Brazilian has chosen a date and location for his new challenge in Ultimate.

“November 4th, in Brazil. It's what I want, to take my whole family. It would be something incredible for me. I will be living in Mexico for nine years and I have seen very little of them (family members). It's been a long time since my family has seen me fight. Being able to fight in Brazil, bringing them from Manaus to São Paulo to be with me during fight week will be something incredible”, he declared.

Finally, Lopes sent a message to the current featherweight members of the company. Respectfully, the Amazonian assured that he will work hard in the group.

“I don’t need to say much. My struggles speak for themselves. I can be a very unpredictable guy and finish from anywhere,” she concluded.

Although Diego's first victory in the UFC came last weekend, Lopes had already convinced his debut commitment in May, when he faced Movsar Evloev last minute. At the time, the Tupiniquim had accepted the challenge of facing a last-minute promise and, even so, drew attention with a satisfactory performance, being praised by Dana White.
