Looking to avenge the defeat suffered in 2018 by Dustin poirier, Justin gaethje avoids creating an atmosphere of rivalry on the eve of the long-awaited rematch in UFC 291, this Saturday (29). In a non-provocative stance, the athlete praised the danger that his tormentor poses and avoided guaranteeing victory by declaring that the fight will be '50 to 50' for both athletes.
“I think we both have, I mean I certainly have respect for this guy. He is one of the best in the world. The fights he does are always exciting, and he performs. And this is a phenomenal opponent, this is a fifty-fifty fight and I didn’t used to go into a fight saying that,” explained Gaethje in an interview with ESPN.

Despite the statement in which he considers the difficulty of the fight, Justin highlighted his confidence in his abilities.
“Fighting is a crazy game, and anything can happen at any moment. But I know I'm willing to go out there and roll the dice. I know my skills match anyone. I'm number three in the world. I've proven several times that I can compete at this level. And so that’s it, just believe in yourself and believe in the process”, he concluded.
Protagonists of UFC 291, the athletes will have a rematch this Saturday (29), in a duel valid for the BMF belt. Defeated in the first by technical knockout, Gaethje is considered an underdog for the second clash.
