One of the UFC's main commentators, Jon Anik, made public the company's frustration at its failure to promote its 'dream fight' in the light heavyweight division (under 93kg). In chat on 'middleeasy', the analyst stated that the organization was excited about making the confrontation between Jamahal hill e Jiri Prochazka. The duel was not confirmed due to injuries that prevented the stars from being selected.

“I feel like Jamahal will be out of action for a long time. Recovery from 'Achilles tendon' requires caution. He (Hill) said the UFC will take care of him. I don't know exactly what it means. They will pay for the surgery, financially or otherwise. It's very crazy. These guys are very talented. Jamahal hill against Jiri Prochazka it was the dream fight of Mick Maynard (one of those responsible for negotiating fights in the company) and UFC and it didn't work out”, said Anik.

Champion of the category before Jamahal's short reign, Prochazka gave up the title at the end of 2022. At the time, the Czech was preparing for a rematch against Glover Teixeira.

Months later, when Hill took over the vacant throne after facing the Brazilian himself, it was the North American's turn to abdicate the throne due to injury. So far, the two former leaders of the category still have no plans to return to the octagon.
