Protagonist of UFC show confirmed for August 12th, Vincent Luque is official in the fight against Rafael dos Anjos. Although the fight was already within the company's schedule, there were doubts about the fighter's participation, given the concern about the Tupiniquim's integrity after having a cerebral hemorrhage diagnosed after the fight against Geoff neal, in 2022. With a special session to deal with the case, the combatant was released by the Nevada Athletic Commission to face the former UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg).

“He (Luque) had a brain bleed about a year ago, and ended up suspended for a year. To return to competing, he needed a certificate from a neurosurgeon and a neurologist, who, independently, cleared the athlete to fight. The material reached us and we trusted the doctors,” Jeff Mullen, executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission, told 'MMA Junkie'.

Current number 10 in the welterweight rankings (up to 77,1kg), Vicente returns to the octagon to seek redemption in the category. Featured in the group led by Leon edwards, the Brazilian is under pressure for a positive result, as he accumulates two stumbles in a row, one of them, the hard setback against Geoff neal, which resulted in the aforementioned injury.

To get back on the path to triumph, Luque will have to go through a true UFC star. Former lightweight champion and former welterweight title challenger, Rafael dos Anjos locks in a clash that could immediately take him back to the top 10.
