After claiming that a shoulder injury would be a reason to cancel the match against Marlon Vera, Henry Cejudo enraged one of his victims. Paying attention to the actions of the former double champion, Dominick Cruz fired at his compatriot and questioned the real seriousness of the problem revealed by 'Triplo C'. According to the fighter and commentator, his rival only cares about fights that bring him closer to the belt.

“I would say everything made sense about it, except that Henry said 'yes, but I'd like to Petr yan ou Merab Dvalishvili. He had all this declaration about this and that, but then you give us two opponents who are ranked above Vera. Which tells me you didn't want someone ranked where Vera is. That's where he tells the truth, that's the thing. It's like, 'My shoulder hurts too much for Vera, but if we can aljamain sterling ou Petr yan, my shoulder doesn't hurt as much. We can make this work. I can make this work,'” Cruz said in an interview with Brendan Schaubb.

Unsatisfied, Dominick also criticized the stance adopted by Ultimate.

“The way I see Henry, some fights are worth his shoulder and others are not. So how do you decide this? How do you decide who is good enough for you and who isn't? Well, it's up to the UFC to make those choices. I got the same fight offer as him, and I got the fight from Casey kenney before that, and I took the fight from Peter Munhoz before that… Then I get the fight with Vera. He's been out this whole time, he has a title shot. And now, after that, after the title shot, they didn’t drop him to the back of the line,” he concluded.
