Since leaving the UFC due to contractual issues earlier this year, Francis Ngannou saw Jon Jones debut in the division and assume the throne that was his between 2021 and 2023. In the Cameroonian's opinion, however, the title of best heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) in the organization currently does not belong to 'Bones', but rather to another former category champion.

In a recent interview with the North American website 'TMZ Sports', Francis Ngannou pointed Stipe Miocic as 'heir' to the UFC's best heavyweight title following his departure from the organization and stated that the former champion is often underestimated.

“It’s going to be tough for Jon Jones. I don't think we give Stipe (Miocic) the credit he deserves. Stipe doesn't get the value he deserves. For me, he's still the heavyweight guy. He’s the most challenging guy in the heavyweight division,” Ngannou responded about a possible confrontation between Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic.

Francis Ngannou e Stipe Miocic They have already faced each other twice, with one victory for each side. In their first meeting, in 2020, the North American won a unanimous decision from the judges to defend the heavyweight title, but ended up dethroned by the Cameroonian three years later, in 2021, when he was knocked out in the second round.
