“It meant everything to me. She and I are close, we live in South Florida. I was able to go to your new gym,'The Lioness Studio', in the week leading up to the fight (against Irene aldana). I went to watch her train and instead we spent two and a half hours talking. She didn't shed a drop of sweat. It was a very special moment for me. (…) Kissing me on the forehead was basically her thanking me. She moved me in the Octagon. We were able to share a moment. However, she was the main star,” said Anik.

No UFC 289, Amanda nunes said goodbye to MMA with a real show in front of Irene aldana. Bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.), the Brazilian had a dominant performance, being declared the winner in the unanimous decision, and defending the title.

Still in the octagon, the Bahian announced her retirement at the age of 35. In addition to the bantamweight belt, the Tupiniquim also left the sport with the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) throne in Ultimate.
