New PFL star, Francis Ngannou did not hide his anger at the 'flirting' between the UFC and Tyson Fury for a super fight against Jon Jones. Out of Ultimate after failures in contract renewal, in which the athlete asked for freedom to perform boxing, the French-Cameroonian blasted his former bosses. At a press conference last weekend, the 'giant' opened up about the situation.

“That (a superfight) was never a possibility. It was never talked about while I was in the UFC. Now that I'm no longer there, it seems like they're doing everything they can to bring me down. (…) However, Ngannou will always stand. I will continue here for a while,” said Francis.

Heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) of Ultimate between 2021 and 2023, the French-Cameroonian had a successful stint with the company chaired by Dana White. The athlete, however, left the company after unsuccessful attempts to renew his contract.

Among Ngannou's demands, in addition to salary increases, was the public's desire to test himself in boxing against Tyson Fury, heavyweight champion by 'World Boxing Council' (WBC) and 'The Ring'. The 'giant's' attacks, however, came up against the UFC's lack of interest.

Out of Ultimate since January 2023, when his contract came to an end, Francis had months of negotiations before defining his future. After conversations with organizations such as ONE Championship and Bare Knuckle, the fighter was announced as a reinforcement for the PFL. The fighter, however, still has no date or opponent for his debut.
