MMA fans went crazy last Friday night (16) as they 'got a taste' of a fight that is unlikely to happen one day. Behind the scenes at the PFL event in Atlanta (USA), the former UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) Francis Ngannou had a friendly but intense confrontation with the current owner of the belt Jon Jones.

Former owner of the heavyweight belt, Ngannou left the UFC last January after being unable to reach an agreement with the organization over salary issues. The Cameroonian was announced a few months later as a new PFL athlete. In his new home, Francis will be the president of 'PFL Africa' and will be much more than a 'simple fighter' in the company chaired by Ray Sefo.
Until then, absent from the Octagon for around three years, Jones was called up by the UFC to fight for the then vacant belt against the former interim champion. Cyryl Gane No. UFC 285, held in March. The biggest name in the history of MMA lived up to his position, didn't take notice of the 'Bom Garoto' and won by submission in the first round, becoming the new king of the sport's most noble division.
