Not satisfied with being the current lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Islam makhachev wants another 'title' in the organization. In an interview with the channel Daniel Cormier, the pupil of Khabib Nurmagomedov complained about Jon Jones to be first in the Ultimate weight-for-pound rankings and said that 'people who know MMA' know that this position belongs to him.

“That’s bullshit, brother. As Jon Jones Could it be number one? He beat a guy who isn't a champion. That guy (Cyryl Gane) doesn't have a belt, he won it and they put him (Jones) as number one pound for pound. That's bullshit... It doesn't matter how he hit him. The UFC ranked him as the best pound-for-pound. But people who know MMA know who the best fighter in the world is. Don't call me the lightweight champion. Call me the best pound-for-pound fighter,” Makhachev said.
