Although doubts are greater than certainties regarding the long-awaited return of Conor McGregor, Jon Anik shows great optimism in seeing the Irishman perform again in the UFC. After Dana White spoke about the athlete's lack of concern due to the wealth he acquired, the official Ultimate commentator ignored the monetary issue and highlighted the 'Notorious' sportsmanship.

"I just want to see Conor McGregor back. I've said in so many interviews over the last few years that the only place for Conor to kind of scratch that competitive itch that he's trying to scratch is in the octagon. It's not in boxing without gloves, with respect, it's not anywhere else, it's not in a boxing ring. And I would gently remind everyone that if he hadn't broken his leg, we probably would have seen him at least once, if not twice more. I really take him at his word when he suggested that he wants to be in an active competition cycle in the UFC,” Anik told Chamatkar Sandhu.

When talking about possible dates, Jon demonstrated that he was confident in his revealed expectations.

“I think we have him in the fourth quarter (of this year), and depending on the results, I think you absolutely get him again in the first quarter, second quarter of 2024. I feel like he's chasing more greatness, and I know he has more money than he expected he would have, but how much will he enjoy his retirement if he doesn't achieve some more accomplishments in MMA? I think we see it against Michael chandler in December. As long as he doesn't break his leg, I think we'll see him in March 2024 too”, concluded the commentator.
