Protagonist of the main fight in UFC 291, Dustin poirier will fight for the second time against Justin gaethje, in a duel valid for the BMF belt. Scheduled to fly to Salt Lake City, the fighters sounded alert when they knew they would be dealing with the high altitude of the place. At risk of having problems with resistance during combat, the fighter analyzed possible consequences.
“Man, I don’t know. I guess we'll see when we get there. I'm kind of planning ahead. I'm having my team contact a few different altitude tent companies. I'm looking at some to roll up my bed during fight prep so I'll sleep at altitude every night. I know Gaethje is in Denver, so he's going to come down and fight. He has a little bit of an advantage there,” Poirier said in an interview with 'The MMA Hour'.

In preparation for dealing with adversity, Dustin downplayed the size of the problem and reminded them that they will not be fighting on the peak of a large mountain.
“I'm going there probably eight or nine days in advance. I will sleep well and get my body used to it. But in the words of my boxing coach when we talked about it: “It could be in space.” I am a high-condition combat athlete and can fight anywhere for a long time. I was thinking about maybe staying eight days in Park City beforehand. In fact, it's 2.000 feet above Salt Lake. But it's a fight, man. 25 minutes, let's go. We are not fighting on Mount Everest”, concluded the fighter.
Rivals in 2018, the fighters fought an exciting fight with twists and turns. In the fourth round, Dustin got the upper hand and emerged victorious by technical knockout. Ready for a rematch, the lightweight lightweights (up to 70,1kg) will face each other on July 29th, for the BMF belt.
