Moments after being announced the winner of the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 73, against Angela Hill, in one of the best performances of his career, Mackenzie dern He already had another name on the tip of his tongue for his next step in the organization.
Still on top of the octagon, in an interview with Michael Bisping, the Brazilian took advantage of the space with the microphone to challenge Rose namajunas, former strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg).

“I don't know what Rose (Namajunas) wants to do, but if she's going to keep fighting, I'd like to face her. I have never fought against a former champion and I feel like I could have that opportunity now”, challenged the Brazilian.
In a press conference held shortly after the event, Mackenzie dern reinforced the challenge to Rose namajunas and explained the desire to measure strength against the former champion.
“Yes, for sure (it’s the fight I want). I follow her (Rose namajunas) on social media and everything. I saw she fought in a regional ADCC or something. I'm a former ADCC champion and I'm always happy when I see MMA girls doing jiu-jitsu and stuff like that. Facing Rose is definitely a priority of mine at the moment. I think it would be a great fight, a good main event and a good test for both of us. When I see her training jiu-jitsu I see that it won’t be an easy fight, but it could be a good fight for the public and for us,” she said.
Also at a press conference, UFC president Dana White left the door open for a duel between Mackenzie and Namajunas.
“I don’t know, but obviously it would be a fun fight too. Mackenzie is in a very good place after tonight's performance. (…) Everything is possible for her,” said Dana.
Rose namajunas hasn't entered the Octagon since she was dethroned by Carla esparza in disappointing performance in UFC 274, in May last year. The former champion is second in the division rankings.
