In her commitment to return to strawweight (up to 52,1kg), Jessica Andrade, 'Bate-Estaca', had an atypical performance. Featured in UFC 288, held this Saturday (6), in Newark (USA), the former category champion accepted the open fight against yan xiaonan and ended up getting the worst of it. After acting in a rushed manner, the woman from Paraná ended up surprised by a well-aimed blow, which led to an immediate knockout.
With the result, Bate-Estaca suffers the first setback in the category since 2020. The fighter's last stumble had occurred in the rematch against Rose namajunas.
The group's promise, Xiaonan has plenty of reasons to celebrate. The triumph against Jessica should place the Chinese woman in the top 5 of the category led by Weili Zhang.

The confrontation began with Xiaonan taking the initiative with a low kick. Jessica saved on attacks. The Chinese was more precise and scored with jabs and straight shots. Andrade tried to shorten it, but threw empty strikes. Halfway through the stage, Yan connected a clean cross to the Brazilian's face, who collapsed. Noticing the condition of the woman from Paraná, the referee interrupted the confrontation.
