Vinícius Salvador is nullified by Victor Altamirano and suffers defeat in his debut at UFC San Antonio

Despite his good performance, the Tupiniquim was unable to impose his game and was defeated by unanimous decision from the judges, in a duel that opened this Saturday's card (25)

The premiere of Vinicius Salvador in Ultimate it didn't have the expected result. Despite his good performance, the Brazilian succumbed to the grappling of Victor Altamirano and was defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges. The clash was held in the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg) and marked the opening of UFC San Antonio this Saturday (25).

With the triumph over Vinícius, Altamirano adds his second consecutive victory with the Ultimate gloves and now has a record in the sport of 12 triumphs and two setbacks.

Even with the defeat, Vinícius delivered a good performance and should get new opportunities in Ultimate. Coming from the 'Contender Series', the Brazilian athlete now has a record of 14 positive results and five negative results as a sports professional.

THE FIGHT

Vinícius started the duel very aggressively, trying some plastic blows against Salvador. The Mexican fighter, realizing the disadvantage in his striking, entered the Brazilian's legs and put him down. From above in guard, Altamirano hit the Brazilian in the waist line and kept him pinned to the ground. Vinícius tried to get up but his rival managed to impose his strength in the first moment, but the Tupiniquim soon got to his feet and both returned to the center of the cage. Back to striking, Salvador began to mock his rival in the best styleAnderson Silva' with low guard and provocations. In the final seconds, Altamirano stuck to the Brazilian's legs again until the bell sounded.

The second round began with Altamirano taking risks in his striking and trying to pressure Vinícius, who tried to take down the Mexican but was unsuccessful. In the center of the cage, the two fighters exchanged blows openly and Vinícius insisted on plastic strikes. In the final minute, the Brazilian took control of the center of the cage and tried to corner the Mexican, who defended himself well and didn't leave any of the Brazilian's strikes unanswered.
